Pioneer girls?
Yes, we went on another field trip. And yes, we actually do school work :) ! But the fall is just a wonderful time of year to plan field trips. Marmon Valley Farms is a Christian, family-run farm with many activities available. We came for the pioneer days (which is my classroom theme this month) and we learned about cooking & tools pioneers used, and we made candles & candle holders. After our demonstrations, we had lunch-the highlight for many; especially since many of my students were asking when lunch was on the 50 min. trip to the farm. Afterwards the students played in a barn "playset", checked out many farm animals, crawled through a hay maze, and played in a hayloft. Of course it was another perfect day: blue skies, just-right temperatures (70s), and beautiful fall colors.

They look like they are having a blast. So proud of you for climbing to the hayloft. Doesn't it smell just wonderful up there?? I always loved to play in the hay or just walk in the barn at home to smell the fresh hay. OOoooooooo!!!! Makes me homesick.
Yay!!! That was such a fun day! Maybe next time we can crawl through the maze...or not. :) Thanks for being such a great co-worker!!!
Looks like you had a lot of fun. Rea, you make me jealous climbing into the hay loft. I always use to go up into my Papa Braisteds hay loft to play. It smelled sooooo.... good up there. I am hoping to get a field trip in soon. Love ya! Christine
Looks like fun.Wish I had somewhere to take my kids like that. But guess we'll have to live with seeing the full moon over the ocean. Still a beautiful sight!
